Start with the hunt you actually want

Arkansas offers deer, turkey, small-game, and waterfowl hunting opportunities, but each needs a separate plan. Identify the species, county, hunting zone, and exact property or public area before choosing dates. The Arkansas Game and Fish Commission hunting overview connects to current seasons, permits, and species information.

Rifles, shotguns, bows, and other methods

Modern gun, archery, and alternative-firearms opportunities have specific definitions. Do not assume that a rifle, shotgun, muzzleloader, or crossbow is legal for every species or season. Read the current equipment section through the general hunting regulations. Wildlife management areas can have additional restrictions or permit requirements.

Licenses and hunter education

Use the AGFC licensing FAQ to check age, residency, and the licenses or stamps needed for your hunt. For deer, review the deer guidance for zones and harvest procedures. Waterfowl hunters should separately verify the applicable state and federal requirements.

Check hunter education requirements early. Arkansas generally requires certification for hunters born after 1968, with specific supervised and deferred arrangements. Read the full conditions before relying on one, and carry the documentation required for your circumstances.

Evaluate more than the acreage

With permission, inspect how you would enter and leave the tract, where nearby homes and roads lie, and whether safe shooting directions exist. Study cover, water, and terrain together. A steep wooded parcel may offer a different experience from open ground, but neither wildlife sightings nor a harvest can be promised.

Ask about deed restrictions, hunting agreements, easements, and the surveyed boundary. If wet ground is part of the appeal, investigate flood exposure and lawful access rather than assuming seasonal water makes the property suitable for a particular hunt.

Finish the plan before heading out

Read current tagging, game-check, transport, and disease-management requirements. Prepare for weak phone service, cooling game, changing weather, and a safe return. Permission to hunt one tract does not allow entry onto neighboring land.

Land & Creek sells land and does not offer hunting leases. Tell us your intended use so you can investigate whether a property's conditions and restrictions fit your ownership plans.
